Moving from the legacy system

Do my templates move to the new system?

Templates and public templates aren't migrated from the legacy system — here's how to set them up again in the new BunnyDoc.

No. Templates and public templates are not migrated. Connecting your legacy account brings across your signed envelopes and your contacts, but not your templates. You'll need to set them up again in the new system.

Public template links change

Public templates from the legacy system aren't moved, so their old public links won't work in the new system. When you recreate a public template, share its new public link with anyone who used the old one — on your website, in emails, or wherever you'd posted it.

Recreate a template

  1. Open the original document file you used for the template. If you no longer have it, download a signed copy from Legacy Envelopes as a reference.
  2. Create a template in the new system.
  3. Set it up with your documents, signer roles, and default email message.
  4. Add the fields your signers fill in.

Use a blank original, not a signed copy

A downloaded legacy envelope already contains signatures, so it's best used as a reference for which fields go where. Upload the blank original document to the new template.

Recreate a public template

  1. Create a public template in the new system.
  2. Copy its public link.
  3. Replace the old link wherever you'd shared it.
