How do I set reminders and an expiration date?

Automatically remind signers who haven't acted and set a deadline after which the envelope expires.

BunnyDoc can chase signers for you and close an envelope automatically if it isn't completed in time. Both are configured in the envelope settings, opened from the editor.

Open the envelope settings

  1. In the editor, open the envelope settings (the settings dialog).
  2. You'll find groups for Notifications, Language, Reminders, Expiry, and After signing.

Reminders

Turn reminders on to nudge recipients who have not yet signed:

  • First reminder after — how many days to wait before the first reminder (default 3).
  • Max reminders — the most reminders to send (default 3).
  • Recurring reminders — optionally keep reminding on a set interval in days (default 2).

With a signing order, reminders only go to the signer whose turn it is. Recipients set to Receives a copy are never reminded.

Expiration

  • Signing expires — set a date and time after which the envelope can no longer be signed.

An expiration date is useful for time-sensitive agreements — for example a quote that is only valid for 30 days. You can watch envelopes approaching their deadline in the Expiring soon view.

Other settings in the same dialog

While you're here, you can also set Notifications (show signing links to the sender, skip the email notification, or allow decline with a reason), the envelope Language, and an After signing redirect that sends signers to an https URL once they finish.
