How do I create a signature request?
Start a new envelope, upload your documents, place fields, and send it out for signature.
A signature request — an envelope — bundles the documents you want signed together with the people who need to sign them and the fields they fill in. Setup is a short two-step wizard called Prepare Envelope, followed by placing fields and sending.
Start a new request
- In the left sidebar, open Signing (or use the Create button in the header). The “Who will sign?” dialog opens.
- Choose who participates — Only me, Me and others, or Only others — then continue to the setup screen. You can adjust the details on the next screen.
Not sure which option to pick? See Who will sign? for what each choice does.
Step 1 — Prepare the envelope
The first step (Step 1 of 2) has three sections: Documents, Recipients, and Envelope Details.
- Documents — drag and drop your files, or click choose file. You can upload PDF,
.doc,.docx,.jpg,.jpeg, and.pngfiles. Office and image files are converted to PDF automatically. See Upload documents for limits and options. - Recipients — add each person, choosing a Role, Full name, and Email, and whether they need to sign, sign in person, or just receive a copy. See Add signers and roles.
- Envelope Details — give the envelope a Title (required), and optionally customise the Email Subject and Email Message.
- When you are ready, click Next — Prepare Fields.
Optional settings on this step
You can turn on Set signing order to make recipients sign one after another, and open the envelope settings to configure reminders and an expiration date. These are all optional.
Step 2 — Prepare fields and send
- On the Prepare Fields step, pick the active recipient with Select Recipient, then drag fields such as Signature, Date Signed, Text, and Checkbox onto the pages. Field colours follow the recipient order so you can see who fills in what. See Add fields.
- When every required field is placed, click Send in the editor header. BunnyDoc runs a required-fields check first, then emails each recipient a secure link to sign.
Not ready to send?
Click Save Draft at any time. Your envelope is kept under Envelopes → Draft, where you can reopen it later to finish and send.
