How do I use tags?
Label products with flexible, multi-select tags to slice your catalogue however you like.
Tags are lightweight labels you can attach to products. Unlike a category, a product can have many tags, so they are ideal for cross-cutting attributes — think seasonal, bestseller, clearance, or fragile.
Create a tag
Tags live under Inventory → Tags.
- Go to Inventory → Tags.
- Enter a Name (required, up to 100 characters).
- Save the tag.
Apply tags to a product
Tags are set in the Organization section of the product drawer. Because tags are multi-select, you can add as many as apply to a single product — see Create a product for the full walkthrough.
Categories answer "what kind of product is this?" (one answer per product), while tags answer "what else is true about it?" (as many as you like). Use both together for a catalogue that's easy to filter.
