EnvelopesAudit trail

How do I view the audit trail?

Open the certified history of an envelope and download it as a certificate of completion.

The audit trail is the certified, tamper-evident record of everything that has happened to an envelope. You can open it at any point in the envelope's life — you don't have to wait until it is completed.

Open the audit trail

  1. Go to Envelopes and find the envelope you want.
  2. Click the (more actions) menu at the end of the envelope's row.
  3. Choose Audit trail.

The Audit trail window opens, titled “Audit trail — Certified & tamper-evident.” At the top you'll see the envelope title, its current status, the channel it was sent through, whether signing was Sequential or Parallel, the envelope ID, and a ring showing how many of the total recipients have signed.

Audit trail is available from the menu for every envelope, regardless of its status — so you can review the history of a draft, a sent envelope, or a completed one.

Download it as a certificate

The audit trail doubles as your certificate of completion. To save a copy:

  1. Open the envelope's menu and choose Download PDF.
  2. In the “What to download” dialog, pick one of:
    • Files only — just the signed documents.
    • Files + audit trail — the documents plus the certificate.
    • Audit trail only — the certificate on its own.
  3. Optionally turn on Merge all files into one PDF to get a single file instead of a ZIP.
  4. Confirm to open the download in a new tab.

Allow pop-ups

The download opens in a new browser tab. If nothing happens, allow pop-ups for BunnyDoc and try again.
