How do I create permission templates?
Build reusable sets of permissions you can apply to team members instead of configuring access one key at a time.
Permission templates are named bundles of permissions you can reuse across your team, so you don't have to configure access one key at a time. Manage them from Settings → Permission Templates (in the Security & access group).
The page lists your company's existing templates. For each one you can View, Edit, Duplicate, or Delete, and there is a Create template button to start a new one.
Create a template
- Click Create template to open the template drawer.
- Enter a Name (required) and an optional Description.
- Use the two-panel picker to build the template: Available features on one side, Template features on the other.
- Add a feature to the template by moving it from Available features. Each feature you add expands to a checklist of permission keys — tick the specific permissions to grant.
- Save the template.
Features are dynamic
The available features and their permission keys come from your company's enabled features, so the list reflects exactly what your plan includes.
Features shown as Not enabled are dimmed and cannot be added. If a feature you need is missing, it is not enabled for your company — check your plan and add-ons in Billing → Resources.
Reuse and manage templates
- Duplicate creates a copy named "Copy of …" that you can tweak — a fast way to build a variant of an existing template.
- Edit reopens the drawer to change the name, description, or selected permissions.
- Delete removes a template you no longer need.
