Document payments

What does the signer see when paying?

The payment card and secure Stripe checkout your signer uses to pay.

When a document has a payment block, the signer pays as part of signing — no separate invoice or account is needed.

The payment step

  1. The signer reaches a Payment due card in the document showing the amount and the labels you set.
  2. They click the Pay button (it shows the amount, for example Pay $150.00).
  3. A secure card checkout opens — the Stripe Payment Element — where they enter their card details. Payment is card-only.
  4. On success, they see a Payment received confirmation.

Secure by Stripe

The signer sees a note that payments are securely processed by Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe, not stored in BunnyDoc.

If Stripe isn't set up

If your Stripe account isn't connected, the signer sees “Online payment is not available right now. Please contact the sender.” instead of a Pay button. Make sure Stripe shows Connected in Payment settings before you send.
